Housewife murdered and hanged in Meherpur

A 60-year-old housewife named Sufia Khatun has been allegedly murdered in Meherpur’s Mujibnagar upazila. The family said that the miscreants killed her and hung her from the roof of the house.
Today, Monday (April 13), at around 3 pm, the police recovered her hanging body from her house in Tungi Gopalpur village of the upazila. The deceased Sufia Khatun is the wife of Kheder Ali of that village. Family members said that Kheder Ali had a land dispute with his brother Akher Ali. They believe that the murder may have been committed due to that dispute.
Upon receiving the information, Mujibnagar police reached the spot and recovered the body. Later, the body was sent to the morgue of the 250-bed Meherpur General Hospital for autopsy. Mujibnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Jahidul Islam said that the investigation into the incident is underway and legal action is in the process of being taken.
