Housewife commits suicide over quarrel with husband
A housewife named Rumesha Akhter (20) has allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself over a quarrel with her husband in the Jhauchar area of Hazaribagh police station in the capital. After completing the legal process on Saturday (November 1) morning, the police sent her body to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The deceased Rumesha Akhter’s home is in Foli village of Palashbari police station in Gaibandha district. She is the daughter of the deceased Sohrab Ali of that village. She currently lives in a rented house in Jhauchar area of Hazaribagh in the capital with her husband and children.
Hazaribagh police station SI Ashrafuzzaman told us that Rumesha and her husband used to quarrel often over various family matters. When the husband left the house last Friday morning, he found that his wife had not cooked. As a result, they quarreled. Later, the husband left the house.
By noon, neighbors heard their baby crying and entered the house and found Rumek hanging from the fan. Later, on receiving information, the police recovered the body and sent it to the DMCH Hospital morgue for an autopsy. SI Ashrafuzzaman also said that legal proceedings are underway in this incident.
