    Home Affairs Advisor inspects 4 police stations in the morning, SI-constable suspended

    Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has inspected four police stations in the capital. During the inspection, he suspended a sub-inspector (SI) and a constable of Gulshan Police Station for neglecting their duties.

    The Home Affairs Advisor inspected Mirpur, Darussalam, Adabor, and Mohammadpur police stations in the capital early Thursday. During the inspection, he instructed the force members to be vigilant and alert at all times to maintain law and order.

    The Home Affairs Advisor said, “Law enforcement officers show laxity in their duties in the early hours of the morning. Terrorists and criminals try to commit various criminal activities on this occasion. I have instructed the law enforcement officers to remain vigilant and alert during this time as well.”

    During the inspection, Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury also said that an SI and a constable have been suspended for neglecting their duties at Gulshan Police Station.

    In response to journalists’ questions, the advisor said that the law enforcement agencies must ensure that people can sleep undisturbed and move around without fear. He said that in addition to the law enforcement agencies, ministry officials have been given the responsibility to monitor the law and order situation. In addition, the number of forces and patrols has been increased.

    At this time, those who are deteriorating the law and order situation will be brought under the law, the home affairs advisor said. He said, “The law enforcement agencies are alert and vigilant. The check posts set up at important intersections of the capital are also functioning. The operations of the joint forces are also going well. The activities of the police stations are going on at a normal pace. This inspection is to see whether the police stations are working properly or not.”

    In response to journalists’ questions about how long the ongoing joint operation will continue, the advisor said that the joint operation will be stopped if the situation improves. However, other operations will continue.

    It is worth mentioning that on Thursday, the advisor left his DOHS house in Baridhara and reached Mirpur Police Station via ECB Chattar, Kalshi, Pallabi, Mirpur-10. After the inspection, he went to Darussalam Police Station via Mirpur-1. From there, he visited Adabor Police Station via Technical More, Shyamoli. Later, after visiting Mohammadpur Police Station from there, he returned to his Baridhara house via Dhanmondi 27, Sangsad Bhaban, Bijoy Sarani, Mohakhali and Banani.

    During the inspection of the police stations, Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury visited the reception room, detention center and ancillary facilities of the police station. He spoke to the duty officers and members of the law enforcement agencies on duty and gave necessary directions. At that time, the Home Affairs Advisor ordered the members of the law enforcement agencies to be more active.

    On the way, he visited Zillur Rahman Flyover Checkpost and Kalshi More Checkpost and spoke to the officials in charge. Apart from this, the Home Affairs Advisor spoke to the general public present at Mirpur Police Station and Technical intersection and inquired about their welfare.
