Holy Shab-e-Meraj on January 27

The moon of the holy month of Rajab of 1446 Hijri has been seen in the country’s sky. The holy month of Rajab will be counted from tomorrow, Thursday. And, the holy Shab-e-Meraj will be celebrated on the night of January 27.

The announcement came out at the meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee in the meeting room of the Islamic Foundation Baitul Mukarram on Wednesday evening. The meeting was presided over by Advisor to the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain.

The meeting was informed that data regarding the moon sighting of the holy month of Rajab of 1446 Hijri has been collected from different authorities including district administrations of all districts across the country, Islamic Foundation, Meteorological Department, Space Research and Remote Sensing Organizations.

In the view of today, 29 Jamadius Sani 1446 Hijri, 17 Paush 1431 Bangabhab, 1st January 2025 AD moon has been sighted in the evening sky of Bangladesh by those present during the review today.

Therefore, the month of Rajab counts from January 2 onwards, and the holy Shab-e-Meraj falls on 26 Rajab 1446 AH, 13 Magh 1431 B.E., 27 January 2025 AD.
