Hezbollah chief urges Saudi Arabia to unite against Israeli aggression
Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem has urged Saudi Arabia to unite against Israeli aggression, following another Israeli attack in southern Lebanon on Friday (September 19), Reuters reported.
Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem is said to be seeking a new chapter in its relations with Saudi Arabia to counter Israel, and to build this new relationship, Hezbollah wants to prioritize identifying Israel as an enemy, discussing problems and resolving old differences.
The Saudi-led Gulf Cooperation Council declared Hezbollah a terrorist organization in 2016 due to a long-standing dispute. Since then, the Iran-backed, Lebanon-based armed group has been at loggerheads with the influential Middle Eastern country, Saudi Arabia. However, analysts believe that the new geopolitical realities in the Middle East could bring positive changes in relations between the two sides.
