Hawker hacked to death in Pirganj

A coconut seller hacked to death a hawker named Al Amin (30) in the compartment of the Ekta Express train in Pirganj, Thakurgaon. The incident took place at Pirganj railway station around 9 pm on Monday (November 24).
The concerned railway station master Abdul Aziz said that a dispute arose between a coconut seller and a popcorn seller in the last compartment of the Panchagarh-bound Ekta Express train that left Dhaka. At one point, the popcorn seller Al Amin (30) was hacked to death. Later, locals rescued him and took him to the Pirganj Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. It is learned that the deceased Al Amin is the son of Montu of Charbadhuthali village in Ulipur upazila of Kurigram district. Officer-in-charge of Pirganj police station Tajul Islam confirmed the information and said, “A case will be filed with the railway police station in this regard.”
