Hasnat’s status: ‘Shahbag took away everything’
Hasnat Abdullah, the chief organizer of the National Citizens Party (NCP) in the southern region, has commented that Shahbagh took away all kinds of basic human rights, starting from freedom of speech, from the people of the country.
He said this in a status posted on his verified ID on social media Facebook on Wednesday.
Hasnat Abdullah wrote in the status, ‘Shahbagh was not built in a day. No one built Shahbagh alone. The so-called civil society, intellectuals, bureaucrats, cultural workers, foreign agents, politicians and sportsmen also supported the establishment of Shahbagh.’
He wrote, ‘Shahbagh took away all kinds of basic human rights, starting from freedom of speech, from the people of this country. It also took away the right to live freely. Shahbagh legitimized all the misdeeds, from extrajudicial killings to disappearances, murders, mirror houses, judicial murders.’
This main organizer wrote, ‘Fascism has been established in the last 15 years with the direct and indirect cooperation of those who were trying to establish Shahbagh. It was with their support that the fascist Hasina was in power.’
He further wrote, ‘After the mass uprising of 24, we want to ensure justice for all the injustices, misdeeds, disappearances, murders and oppressions committed in the last 15 years. We hope that it is possible with everyone’s efforts. Justice will be established in this land with the united efforts of all anti-fascist forces.
Hasnat Abdullah further wrote, “We reiterate that we are determined to ensure justice for all injustices and oppressions committed during the past regime.”
