Hasnat told Golam Rabbani, “Come to the country and judge by yourself.”

Hasnat Abdullah, one of the coordinators of the student movement against discrimination, has called for former general secretary Golam Rabbani, who was removed from the banned organization Chhatra League for extortion and corruption during the Awami League government, to come to the country and be tried.

Hasnat posted a post on his Facebook page on Wednesday night demanding the trial of Awami League leaders and activists. There, former general secretary of the banned organization Golam Rabbani commented that it is urgent to try Hasnat. In response, one of the coordinators of the student movement against discrimination called for Rabbani to come to the country.

Hasnat Abdullah wrote in his original post, ‘Civility has become our fate at the end of the day. In the same situation in Syria after the revolution, 35 officials of the Assad government were executed in just three days, even though five months have passed since the July uprising succeeded, not a single leader and activist close to fascist Hasina and a supporter of fascism has been tried. The present government’s voluntary delay in trying the leaders and activists of the fascist Awami League due to such mercy is tantamount to an insult to the July Uprising.

The coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement further wrote, ‘However, if the August 5th uprising had not been successful, the fascist Hasina and the Awami League would have embarked on a massacre of revolutionaries. They would not have hesitated to commit indiscriminate disappearances, murders and other genocides. The noose would have fallen on the necks of hundreds of people who participated in the uprising, countless anti-fascist people would have died in the crossfire, and thousands of students and the public would have been left in the darkness of the mirror. The shadow of mourning of innocent people would have descended across the country.’

He further wrote, ‘That is precisely why our current behavior towards the Awami League should be exactly the same as the behavior the Awami League would have shown us if the August 5th uprising had not been successful. The current interim government should ban the Awami League as a party that commits genocide and establishes fascism, and quickly prosecute all its leaders and activists, and bring the soft enablers of the Awami League’s fascism, which prevails at all levels of the country, starting from the administration, under the law. Otherwise, the sacrifices of all our martyrs in this July uprising and the bloodshed of thousands of injured comrades will be in vain.’

Calling on the interim government, Hasnat Abdullah further wrote, ‘There is no mercy for the Awami League. Therefore, make the trial of the party’s leaders and activists visible and effective very quickly.’

In the comments, Golam Rabbani wrote, It is necessary to prosecute you first for being an integral part of a meticulously designed conspiracy that has handed the country over to the heirs of Pakistani bravery and pushed it into extreme anarchy and insecurity.

In response, Hasnat Abdullah wrote, ‘Golam Rabbani comes to the country. He comes to the country and judges. If there is a headman, he comes.’
