    What Hasnat Abdullah said after the meeting with BNP

    After the meeting with BNP, convener of anti-discrimination student movement, Hasnat Abdullah, said that BNP has not made any final decision regarding the removal of President Sahabuddin. He gave this information after the meeting of anti-discrimination student movement and National Citizen Committee with BNP on Saturday.

    The meeting was held at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan this evening. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and some leaders of the party were present in it. On the other hand, nine participated on behalf of the anti-discrimination student movement and the National Citizen Committee.

    Hasnat Abdullah said, ‘Last October 23, we called for national unity. Another obstacle to the abolition of fascism is now before us the removal of the President. We are discussing with the political parties of the country about our new political arrangement.

    He said, “I discussed with BNP today. I have discussed three issues there. The first is – discussed how to form and declare the Second Republic. Second, the President. Talked about how to remove Sahabuddin as soon as possible and how to end the political crisis. Thirdly, I talked about how to run the government while maintaining national unity.

    The convener of the anti-discrimination student movement said, ‘BNP has heard all our words. They said they will discuss our message in the party forum and then give their decision.

    He said, “We had a meeting with the Islamic movement on the same issue. They also want to remove the president from the place of morality.
