Hamd, Naat and Kerat Competitions Held by Naya Masjid Samaj Committee
A Hamd, Naat and Kerat Competition and Prize Distribution Ceremony was held by Naya Masjid Samaj Committee of Chittagong Ward No. 19, South Baklia Ward No. 19, on Tuesday (October 21).
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Central Committee Member Alhaj Mohammad Shamsul Alam was present as the chief guest at the ceremony.
Ward No. 19 Councilor Sakeb Yasin Chowdhury Ashu, Ward BNP Member Secretary Yakub Chowdhury Nazim, Mohalla Committee President S.M. Selim, General Secretary Haji Md. Ishaq, Jubo Dal leader Asadur Rahman Tipu and others were present at the event.
Alhaj Mohammad Shamsul Alam said, “The people of this area are my strength and inspiration. InshaAllah, if I am elected as an MP, I will build a modern orphanage and madrasa here. Working for the welfare of the local people is my life’s goal.”
He further said, “Such events are very necessary to keep religious and social values alive. Every person in the society has to work together to inspire the young generation in the light of religion.”
Prize distribution and closing ceremony
Contestants of different ages participated in the Hamd, Naat and Qiraat competitions. The guests and spectators were impressed by the captivating performances of the participants. At the end of the program, prizes and honors were given to the winners.
Locals said that this initiative of the social committee will further enrich the religious environment in the area and inspire the new generation with Islamic consciousness.
