Government wants parties to take quick decision on referendum
Legal Adviser Asif Nazrul said that the interim government has called on anti-fascist political parties to give their suggestions on the referendum within a week. Otherwise, the government will take a decision on the matter. The legal adviser made the statement at a press conference at the Karbi Hall of the Chief Adviser’s office today (November 3).
He said, “Concerns were expressed in the meeting over political differences on when the referendum will be held and what its content will be. The allied parties of the anti-fascist movement have been called upon to hold quick discussions and give the government a unified direction within the next week. If such a direction is received, it will be much easier for the government to take a decision.” He added, “In the current situation, there is no room for delay. We all need to remember this.”
