Government seeks energy assistance from America: Energy Minister

The conflict between America, Israel and Iran in the Middle East has led to an energy crisis all over the world. Previous commitments for imports into the country have been stopped. Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hassan Mahmud Tuku said that America’s cooperation has been sought to deal with this crisis.
He told reporters this after a meeting with US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapoor at the Secretariat on Wednesday (March 4) afternoon. The Energy Minister said that America will raise the issue at the highest level of their government.
Regarding energy reserves, Iqbal Hassan Mahmud Tuku said that instructions have been given on how to use the stored energy economically. Efforts are also being made to bring energy from everywhere. The stored energy will last until March. He expressed fear that the crisis may continue until Eid. Assuring that there will not be an unbearable power crisis, the Energy Minister said that everyone should be aware of stopping the wastage of electricity.
