Government salary and allowances are the only source of employment, bribery and corruption are not tolerated: Hasnat

NCP’s chief organizer for the southern region and MP from Comilla-4 (Debidwar) constituency Hasnat Abdullah said that government salary and allowances should be used for employment, bribery and corruption will not be tolerated. He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the law and order meeting of Debidwar Upazila in Comilla on Wednesday (February 25) afternoon.
He said that there will be no brokers in the police station. Action will be taken against the brokers. There will be no brokers in the upazila administration and health complex. No one will be allowed to work outside the rules.
Addressing the OC of Debidwar Police Station, Hasnat said, “From now on, there will be no brokers in your police station. I have sent ordinary people to investigate and I have seen that no work is done there without brokers. I have come to know about this through people related to law and order.” Mentioning the name of a broker, he ordered the OC to take action. Moreover, he named several police officers of the police station and ordered action against them.
MP Hasnat said, I wanted a place to work on these issues. Now that Allah has given me the opportunity, I will definitely work for the welfare of the people. We have to ensure that people are not harassed in any way in service institutions. Addressing the government officials and employees, he said, you have to serve the people through the facilities provided by the government. Nothing extra can be taken here. You have to get out of the habit of bribery.
He said, there are several journalists present here, if anyone does not agree with my words, I challenge them. It even happened that I myself sent one to the police station to file a complaint or case. But I have seen that nothing works without middlemen.
Addressing the OC, he further said, you are seeing from inside the police station, and I am seeing from the perspective of the common man. From today, from this moment, there will be no middlemen in the police station. You sit in discussion with your second officer. He will tell everyone that you have to work with the salary that the government pays.
At this time, he directed the administration to take measures to improve the law and order situation, reduce traffic congestion, ensure public health services and stop the cutting of Gomati soil. Among others, Upazila Executive Officer Rakibul Islam, Assistant Commissioner Land, Police Station OC and officials of various departments of the upazila spoke.
