Gaza aid blockade violates international law and humanity: Australian Prime Minister Albanese
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has said in clear terms, “Israel’s blocking of humanitarian aid to Gaza is not only a violation of international law, it is also a gross violation of humanity and morality.” He made this comment in an interview with the ABC. He said, “The decision that Israel took in March to stop food supplies is a clear violation of international law.” When asked about recognizing a Palestinian state like France, he said, “Our government is not planning to do so any time soon.” However, he added, “If the situation is favorable, we will find a way forward. But the question is – how do you exclude Hamas?” The Israeli government has not yet made any official response since this statement. However, in a press briefing yesterday (July 26), an Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman said, “We are just ensuring our security.”
