Garment official killed in train accident
A man named Md. Nazmul Islam (37) was killed in a train accident in Uttara House Building, Joynal Market, Natungate, in the capital. He was working as a quality manager in a garment factory in Uttarkhan area. He was rescued around 12 midnight yesterday (December 27) and taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Shakib Alam, nephew of the deceased Nazmul Islam, said that his uncle lived with his family in Uttarkhan area and worked as a quality manager in a garment factory. He was seriously injured when he was hit by a train while crossing the road at Uttara House Building, Joynal Market, Natungate, on his way home from work at around 8 pm. He was later taken to a local hospital where his condition deteriorated. From there, he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment, where the doctor declared him dead.
Shakib Alam further said that the village of the deceased Nazmul Islam is in Nur Nabi area of Begumganj police station in Noakhali district. He is one of five brothers. Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp In-charge Md. Faruk confirmed the death and said that the body of the deceased has been kept in the morgue of the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The concerned Railway Police Station has been informed about the incident.
