Fuel oil to be sold at new prices from today

Fuel oil prices have decreased in the country’s market this time. The government has announced a reduction of fuel oil prices by Tk 2 per liter for the month of January 2026. Petrol, octane, diesel and kerosene are being sold at new prices from today, Thursday (January 1). Earlier, the Energy Department of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources gave this information in a notification on Wednesday night.
The notification said that in light of the revised pricing formula for automatically determining the price of fuel oil at the consumer level in the country every month, fuel oil prices have been re-fixed or adjusted to ensure the supply of fuel oil at a relatively affordable price for the month of January.
According to the revised price details, the selling price of diesel for January has been reduced by Tk 2 from Tk 104 to Tk 102 and the price of kerosene has been re-fixed from Tk 116 to Tk 114. Additionally, the price of octane per liter has been reduced from Tk 124 to Tk 122 and the price of petrol has been reduced from Tk 120 to Tk 118.
