Four sentenced to life imprisonment in Natore murder case

A court has sentenced four people to life imprisonment in the murder case of farmer Mobarak Hossain in Baraigram, Natore. On Sunday (March 15), Additional District Judge Mohammad Delwar Hossain announced the verdict in the presence of the accused.
PP of Natore Judge Court Ruhul Amin Talukder Tagore said that on the morning of June 15, 2020, farmer Mobarak Hossain of Ikri village of Baraigram upazila was killed while working on potal land. Rani Begum, the wife of the deceased Mobarak Hossain, filed a murder case against unknown persons at Baraigram Police Station as the plaintiff in this incident. After filing the case, the police arrested a woman named Arifa Khatun, a neighbor, with the help of information technology. During interrogation, the names of Asadul Islam, Abdur Rashid and Jihad Ali involved in the murder were revealed in Arifa Khatun’s confession.
He also said that the police conducted raids at various places and arrested the accused. They gave confessional statements in the court. After taking testimony in the case for almost 6 years, the court judge pronounced the verdict in the presence of the accused. The verdict ordered life imprisonment along with a fine of 5 lakh taka each and an additional three years of rigorous imprisonment in default. The plaintiff expressed satisfaction with the verdict.
