Four pairs of commuter trains have been inaugurated.
Communication between the people of Gazipur and the capital Dhaka has been made easier. Four new pairs of commuter trains started their journey on the Dhaka-Joydevpur-Dhaka route. This will allow passengers to travel to and from Dhaka very easily.
Amongst those, the Advisor, Interim Government, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges and Ministry of Railways, Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan formally opened the commuter train on Joydevpur-Dhaka route by hoisting a flag at Joydevpur Railway Station this morning.
The advisor said at the time, “Commuter trains will be increased at several places including Dhaka-Narsingdi Road from March 26 to improve the rail travel system for passengers.”
Railway officials including the Railway Secretary and the Deputy Commissioner of Gazipur were present at the time.
The new trains are Turag Commuter-1, Turag Commuter-2, Turag Commuter-3 and Turag Commuter-4 and Joydebpur Commuter-1, Joydebpur Commuter-2, Joydebpur Commuter-3 and Joydebpur Commuter-4.
Dhaka Airport, Tejgoan, Banani, Tongi and Dhirashram these five stations will be included under these two trains. Meanwhile, the Turag commuter will be closed on every Friday of the week and on every Saturday, the Joydebpur commuter train.
