Four killed in Russian drone strike in Ukraine
Four members of the same family were killed in a Russian drone strike overnight in Ukraine’s north-eastern Sumy region on Tuesday (September 30), Ukraine said.
“Tonight, the enemy launched an attack on a residential building in the Krasnopilya community of the village of Chernechchina,” Oleg Grigorov, head of the regional military administration, wrote on Telegram. He added that rescuers had recovered the bodies of a six- and four-year-old boy and his parents from under the rubble.
He described the incident as a terrible and irreparable loss for the entire community and the region.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that it had “destroyed and repelled” 81 drones sent by Ukraine overnight. Andrei Bocharov, governor of Russia’s southern Volgograd region, said that the Russian military had repelled a Ukrainian drone attack.
