Foreign observers who validated the last three elections will not be given the opportunity to observe the next election

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has said that foreign observers who validated the last three elections as free and fair will not be given the opportunity to observe the next election. He said this in response to questions from journalists after a meeting with Canadian High Commissioner in Dhaka Ajit Singh at the Election Building on Tuesday (July 8). The CEC said that the election date has not been decided yet, and everyone will be informed two months before the date is decided. AMM Nasir Uddin also mentioned that the commission has sought Canada’s assistance in the next parliamentary election. He said that discussions were held on various issues including campaigning for votes in remote areas, increasing the participation of women voters, and training of election-related personnel. Earlier, a two-member delegation including the Canadian High Commissioner went to the Election Building to meet with the CEC in the morning.
