Foreign ministers of SAARC countries invited to swearing-in ceremony – Legal Advisor
Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has invited the foreign ministers of SAARC countries to the swearing-in ceremony. He said this in response to questions from journalists at the Secretariat this Sunday (February 15) afternoon.
The Legal Advisor said that the swearing-in of the members of parliament will be held at 10 am next Tuesday. Most likely, I think, in the circumstances in which the Chief Election Commissioner will administer the oath. BNP said that after the swearing-in, the election of the head of the parliamentary party will be held between 11:30 am and 12 noon. And the swearing-in ceremony of the ministers will be held at the South Plaza of the Parliament Building around 4 pm. As far as I know, the President will take the oath.
In response to a question about the invitation of the Indian Prime Minister, he also said that he did not know anything about it. I heard in the meeting that the foreign ministers of the SAARC countries have been told by the people in charge of the Foreign Ministry so far. And I do not know anything about what you (journalist) said about any prime minister.
The legal advisor said that BNP has expressed their intention to take oath at the South Plaza. He said, I think since our parliament is a little different. We got this parliament after this sacrifice, this mass uprising, a lot of sacrifice, a lot of pain, a lot of loss of your lives. This parliament is a little different from all other parliaments. Many historical events have happened in this parliament premises. He further said that the program surrounding the July Declaration and the July Charter was also organized here in the parliament. The South Plaza of this parliament is memorable for us for many other reasons. The funeral of our late leader Begum Khaleda Zia was held next to it. The funeral of our beloved martyr Osman Hadi was held. So there are many memories associated with it. Considering everything, maybe they (BNP) have expressed their intention, we are organizing accordingly.
