    Flammable materials were in the tannery warehouse.

    The fire service said that the tannery warehouse that caught fire in Hazaribagh in the capital contained flammable materials. Fire Service Director (Operation and Maintenance) Lieutenant Colonel Md. Tajul Islam gave this information at a press briefing held after the fire was brought under control on Friday afternoon.

    He said, “It took three hours to bring the fire under control. Our capacity could not be fully utilized. The capacity of the fire service could not be utilized due to water shortage, flammable materials inside, crowd of eager people and narrow roads.”

    He also said that the building housed a factory for plastics, leathers and flammable materials. However, there were no casualties in the fire.

    Stating that there was no fire safety plan in the building, the fire service official said that the fire service had given notices several times.

    The fire broke out in the warehouse around 2 pm today. After about two and a half hours of effort, the fire service and BGB brought the fire under control at 4:45 pm today, Friday. 12 units of the fire service are working to control the fire. BGB also works with them to control the fire.
