Five people injured, including one shot, in BNP grouping in Narsingdi
Two BNP groups clashed repeatedly at the Panchdona intersection in Narsingdi over control of the fake business and expansion of dominance. In this incident, a hand grenade was thrown at a police vehicle and at least 5 people were injured, including two bullet wounds. The clashes began at 7 pm on Sunday (August 17) and lasted until 11:30 pm in the Panchdona intersection area. However, the situation could not be brought under control even though the police arrived at the scene. Among the injured were Hamid Mia (28), son of Taizuddin, and Hasan Mia (28), son of Billal Mia, in the Panchdona area. After rescuing them, two of them were treated at the Narsingdi Sadar Hospital. Local sources said that the other injured were sent to the Dhaka Medical College for treatment. According to police and local sources, the dispute between Union BNP Vice President Lalu Mia alias Lal Mia and BNP worker Mosaddek Hossain began on August 5 last year over dominance, extortion from the sidewalk and occupation of the CNG station at Panchdona intersection. On Sunday evening, Lalu’s members attacked a worker of Mosaddek with a machete. This angered people from both sides and led to clashes. At least five people from the two groups were injured in the clashes from 7 pm onwards. Multiple cocktail explosions occurred and the two groups took a face-to-face position. Narsingdi Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Anwar Hossain Shamim said that the clashes started in the evening and they faced each other until 11:30 pm. We are between both groups.
