Five people, including a woman, were hacked to death in Dumki, Patuakhali, over a road dispute. The incident took place in Ward No. 1 area of ​​Serampur Union at around 3 pm on Wednesday (February 25).
Two of the injured are in critical condition and have been sent to Barisal for better treatment. Later, the police conducted a raid at night and arrested the two main accused.
According to the complaint, Siddique Mridha and locals Abul Hossain and Hanif Hossain of the same area had a long-standing dispute over the road. As a result, Siddique Mridha and his sons ambushed Abul Hossain and Hanif Hossain with country-made weapons yesterday afternoon. Safia Begum (45), Sohrab Hawlader (58), Abul Hossain (65), Musa (26) and Nazrul (28) were seriously injured.
Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to Dumki Upazila Health Complex. Later, when the physical condition of two of the injured deteriorated, they were shifted to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. Meanwhile, after filing a case in this incident last night, the police immediately launched a drive and arrested the two main accused. A police drive is underway to arrest the rest. Confirming the truth of the incident, Dumki Police Station OC Md. Selim Uddin told us that two people have been arrested in this incident. A drive is underway to bring the rest under the law.
