There has been an incident of firing from Myanmar targeting Teknaf land port in Cox’s Bazar. This incident happened on Wednesday, September 18 around 3 pm.
Jasim Uddin, manager of United Land Port, the company that manages Teknaf Land Port, said that suddenly the sound of gunfire was heard across the Naf River from the Myanmar side. At this time, two shots were fired at the port. A bullet pierced the glass of the accounting room in the port’s main building. Another bullet pierced the windshield of a truck.
However, no one was injured in this incident. It was not immediately known who was involved in the shooting incident
He also said, “I have informed the concerned authorities of Teknaf Upazila administration immediately about the incident.” Besides, after hearing about the incident, the BGB and related law enforcement officers inspected the shot images. Two bullets recovered from the spot have been handed over to the concerned forces
Incidentally, the civil war between the junta forces and the Arakan Army in Myanmar has been going on for several years, but recently the two sides have been fighting over the occupation of Maungdoo Township.
