Fire at Jatiya Democratic Front (NDF) leader Anisul’s house in Hathazari at midnight

The village house of former Foreign Minister Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, president of the National Democratic Front (NDF) and chairman of a section of the Jatiya Party, was set on fire by miscreants. The incident took place at around 12 am on Friday (December 19) in the Gumanmardan area of ​​Hathazari upazila of Chittagong. Police said that Anisul Islam Mahmud or his family members were not there at the time.
According to eyewitnesses, some people came to former minister Anisul’s house on motorcycles, Hiace cars and on foot at night. Then they vandalized and set it on fire. After the attackers left, local people came forward to put out the fire. Later, the fire service also went to the spot.
Confirming the matter, Hathazari Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Tarek Aziz said that Anisul Islam Mahmud’s house was vandalized and set on fire. Police went to the spot as soon as they received the information. The matter is being investigated. Meanwhile, it is reported that an emergency meeting of the Jatiya Party’s Presidium Board will be held at Howlader Tower in Gulshan, the capital, at 12 noon today, Saturday, to determine what to do about the overall situation in the country.
