Fire at 4 polling stations in Netrokona in one night
Four polling stations in Netrokona Sadar Upazila have been set on fire. The incident took place at four primary schools in the upazila around 1:30 am on Monday (February 9). CCTV footage showed that some miscreants first poured petrol into a room of Parla Government Primary School in the municipal town and set it on fire. After that, they also set fire to polling stations at Light Government Primary School, Bamanmoha Government Primary School and Darijagi Government Primary School.
Locals saw the fire and brought it under control. Although a few benches in the affected polling station were burnt, there was no major damage. On receiving the information, members of the law enforcement agencies including the police visited the scene on Tuesday morning. Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Sajal Kumar Sarkar said that it is believed that the miscreants may have committed such an incident to create panic. Efforts are being made to bring those involved in the incident under the law after analyzing the CCTV camera footage.
