Filling station manager allegedly killed after being hit by truck over lack of fuel

A filling station manager was allegedly killed after being hit by a truck over a dispute over lack of fuel in Narail. Another person who was seriously injured in the incident has been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The incident took place in front of Tanvir Filling Station in Tularampur area of ​​Sadar Upazila late on Saturday (March 28).
The deceased Nahid Sardar (33) is the son of Akram Sardar of Perli village in Tularampur union of Sadar Upazila. His friend, Jihadul Moliya, son of Zahurul Moliya of Tularampur area, was seriously injured in the incident.
According to police and local sources, truck driver Sujat Moliya of Perli village had come to Messrs. Tanvir Filling and Gas Station located along the Jessore-Narail highway in Narail Sadar Upazila to get diesel for his truck. Nahid Sardar refused to give him fuel as there was no fuel in the pump. An argument broke out between the two. At one point, truck driver Sujat threatened to run over the filling station manager with his truck.
Later, around 2 am, Sujat ran over truck drivers Nahid Sardar and Jihadul Molla from behind while they were returning home on a motorcycle 100 yards away from the pump. Nahid died on the spot. Jihadul was later taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in serious condition.
In this regard, Sheikh Sekender Ali, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Tularampur Highway Police Station in Narail, said on his mobile phone that Nahid’s body has been recovered and sent to the district hospital morgue. The condition of another person is critical. An investigation will be conducted and legal action will be taken in this regard.
