Fight will continue until extortionists are eliminated: Hasnat
National Citizens’ Party (NCP) southern chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah said, “Today’s extortionists are tomorrow’s tenderers. Extortionists will remove bricks from people’s houses after a few days. So our fight will continue until the extortionists are eliminated. If necessary, I will get 300 votes. But I will not bow down to extortionists. Masons and hardworking people are my father’s friends. This time they will be my election agents. Because this time their children are standing in the elections. Let this vote of parents be in favor of their children.”
He said these things at a courtyard meeting titled ‘Uthane Nothing’ at Padmakoot Bazar in Gunaighar Dakshin Union of Debidwar Upazila of Comilla on Sunday (December 7) night. Hasnat said, “My mothers and sisters will come to vote for me after fasting. My brothers and sisters studying in universities will work for me. My brothers living abroad have asked their families to vote over the phone.”
He said, ‘Now if anyone thinks that they will run the country with a stick. Remember Sheikh Hasina? This ‘hidden leadership’ will not survive in Bangladesh. We have to remain united. Why don’t the leaders we make consider our people as their own? Special arrangements for leaders, special chairs, special protocols and we don’t accept these special people as leaders of the common people. The central organizer of Jubo Shakti, Nazmul Hasan Nahid, Md. Mujibur Rahman, Osman Gani Mollah and Shamim Kawsar, spoke at the courtyard meeting presided over by Jahangir Alam, acting chief coordinator of Debidwar Upazila NCP.
