Feni University students block highway with 6-point demand
Feni University students have protested by blocking the Dhaka-Chittagong highway with 6 demands, including the construction of a permanent campus. On Thursday (August 21), the students took up position on the highway in the Mahipal area of the upazila headquarters. This closed two lanes of traffic towards Dhaka and Chittagong. As a result, passengers suffered. The protesting students moved away from the highway after half an hour of the blockade. Traffic on the highway then returned to normal. The students’ 6-point demands include the appointment of a new VC and the introduction of bus transport. The students said that even after 13 years of its establishment, the university has not yet built a permanent campus. This is disrupting their studies. Earlier, the university’s Vice-Chancellor Dr. Jamaluddin Ahmed resigned last night in the face of the movement.
