Father-son arrested with country-made weapons and drugs in Gazipur
Taslim Siraj, brother of Basan Thana BNP president, and his son have been arrested by the joint forces from Naojor area of Gazipur along with a large quantity of country-made weapons and marijuana. They were later handed over to Basan Police Station.
The operation was conducted on Wednesday (October 29) night under the leadership of the 14th Field Regiment: Artillery of the Gazipur Army Camp. The arrested are Taslim Siraj (54), son of Haji Sirajul Islam of Naojor area of Ward No. 13 of Gazipur City Corporation, and his son Mushfiq (27).
Police and local sources said that the joint forces conducted an operation in Naojor area at midnight based on secret information. At that time, Taslim Siraj, brother of Basan Thana BNP president Tanvir Siraj, and his son Mushfiq were arrested.
In the operation, 8 big knives, 19 small knives, 5 big chapatis, 5 small chapatis, 2 iron axes, 5 ramdas, one straight ramda, 27 fake diamonds and ganja were recovered from them. Later, they were handed over to Basan police station. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Basan police station Md. Shaheen Khan told us that two people were arrested in the joint force operation. The process of filing a case against them is underway.
