Folk singer Farida Parveen has been admitted to the hospital with breathing problems. She has been kept in the intensive care unit (ICU). She was admitted to the hospital yesterday, Saturday morning.
Farida Parveen’s husband, instrumentalist Gazi Abdul Hakim, confirmed this information.
He said that Farida Parveen is suffering from various physical complications. Water has accumulated in her lungs.
According to hospital sources, she was admitted to the hospital after experiencing severe breathing problems. After some immediate tests, she was taken to the ICU. The infection has spread to the artist’s lungs. On the other hand, she has some old-age problems including diabetes, high blood pressure. She is currently under the supervision of a chest disease, kidney and critical care specialist. Her condition is somewhat complicated. Doctors have advised her to undergo dialysis.
Farida Parveen started performing Nazrul Sangeet in 1968 as a listed artist of Rajshahi Betar. He gained popularity by singing country songs around 1973. In 1987, he received the Ekushey Padak for his special contribution to music. In 2008, he also received the ‘Fukuwaka Asian Culture Award’ from the Japanese government. In 1993, this artist won the National Film Award for his film songs.
