Fan jailed for hugging actress

Fans getting excited when they see their favorite star in front of them is nothing new. But sometimes it goes beyond the norm. Unexpected things happen. For example, a fan is facing jail time for hugging American singer and actress Ariana Grande.
The incident happened at the premiere of Ariana’s new film. The premiere of her movie ‘Wicked: For Good’ was held in Singapore last Thursday (November 13). The incident was committed by 26-year-old Australian citizen Johnson Owen, who escaped the eyes of security guards.
CCTV footage captured the moment of hugging the actress. It shows Johnson Owen running to hug the singer as she walked the red carpet with his co-stars. However, Johnson could not take the opportunity. As soon as he put his arm around Ariana’s neck, Cynthia Erivo jumped on him. The security guards stood as a shield.
According to reports in various international media outlets, a Singapore court sentenced the man to nine days in jail. The court said he tried to enter the premiere twice. Security guards then stopped him. He was arrested the next day and charged with public nuisance. The man later pleaded guilty. Johnson told a judge in the Wayne County Court that he would “never do it again.” However, Ariana has not commented on the matter.
