Family of deceased in Metrorail accident to receive Tk 5 lakh, investigation committee formed
Roads and Railways Advisor Fawzul Kabir Khan said, “The family of the person who died due to the removal of the Metrorail’s bearing pad will be given Tk 5 lakh as compensation initially. Also, if there is a working person in his family, he will be given a job in Metrorail.” He said this after inspecting the accident site this Sunday (October 26) afternoon.
The Roads and Railways Advisor said, “Metrorail will take all the responsibilities of the deceased’s family. Initially, the family of the deceased will be given Tk 5 lakh as compensation. Later, if there is a working member in the deceased’s family, he will be given a job in Metrorail. I will meet the injured at the hospital a little later and take necessary measures for their treatment.”
He also said, “A 5-member investigation committee has been formed with Bridges Department Secretary Mohammad Abdur Rouf as the convener. The committee will submit its investigation report within the next two weeks.’
It is worth noting that a young man named Abul Kalam died after being hit by a metro rail bearing pad in the capital’s Farmgate area. The accident occurred around 12:30 pm. It is learned that the deceased’s home is in Ishwarpati village of Naria upazila in Shariatpur.
