Fakhrul claims multi-party democracy is BNP’s biggest contribution
BNP brought fundamental changes in the country’s politics and economy with the establishment of multi-party democracy as opposed to a single-party system, said party Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. He said this after paying homage at the tomb of Ziaur Rahman on the 47th founding anniversary of BNP on Monday (September 1). Mirza Fakhrul said that attempts have been made to destroy BNP repeatedly, but it has risen like a phoenix. If the state comes to power in the future with the people’s vote, BNP will build a prosperous country. He said that the challenge now is to cooperate in the fair election ceremony in February. BNP has provided all-out support for reforms. It is worth noting that BNP is celebrating its founding anniversary this time in a relatively favorable political environment after a long period of one and a half decades. After the fall of the Awami League government in the student-public uprising on August 5 last year, Bangladesh entered a new political chapter. In the meantime, the party has turned forty-eight.
