Extortion and terrorism have become part of BNP’s work: Youth Power
Extortion and terrorist activities have become part of BNP’s continuous work, said Advocate Tariqul Islam, convener of Jatiya Nagorik Party’s (NCP) youth wing Jatiya Yuba Shakti. He spoke at a press conference at the organization’s conference room at Bangla Motor in the capital on Saturday (July 12) afternoon. Tariqul Islam said that extortion and terrorist activities have become part of BNP’s continuous work. The interim government should now make efforts to protect people’s lives and property from BNP. He said that if this continues, neo-fascism may be born in the country again. Earlier, Youth Power termed the brutal killing of businessman Lal Chand alias Sohag in front of Mitford Hospital in Old Dhaka and the killers’ dancing on the body as a terrible social disease. On Friday (July 11), a notice signed by the organization’s Joint Member Secretary (Office) Asadur Rahman mentioned that on Wednesday (July 9) evening, businessman Lal Chand alias Sohag was brutally killed by Jubo Dal leaders and activists after he failed to pay the donation in front of Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital (Mitford). The notice said that the killers’ dancing and jubilation over his body rivaled even primitive barbarity. Such brutality is unimaginable and unacceptable in a civilized society. This is not a person, but a direct attack on humanity, law, justice and state order. It said that killing a person in such a way in broad daylight in public is not only brutality, but has shaken the foundation of society and the state. Through this, it has become clear that the country’s citizen security and rule of law are extremely questionable.
