Explosion while lighting a mosquito coil, Eti dies of burns
Among the three members of the same family who were burnt in an explosion due to gas leakage in a house in Jatrabari in the capital, Ripon’s wife Eti (30) has died. Ripon (40) and his 3-year-old daughter Rafia are undergoing treatment at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in this incident. This information was revealed by the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute on Thursday (July 10). Earlier on Wednesday (July 9), the accident occurred on the ground floor of a six-storey house in Shaheed Faruk Road, Khadimul Quran Mahila Madrasa Gali, Jatrabari at around 1:45 am. A neighbor, Taslima Moni, who brought them to the hospital, said that they heard a loud noise around 1:45 am. Then, everyone rushed to the hospital after hearing screams from the house. When they went there, they saw that the bodies of the three members of the family were charred in the fire. The doors and windows were broken, and the three people were immediately rescued and brought to the hospital. He said, we believe that gas had accumulated in the house due to a leak. The explosion occurred when a match was lit to light a mosquito coil at night. In the morning, Dr. Shaon Bin Rahman, resident surgeon of the emergency department of the Burn Institute, said that Ripon’s body was burned 70 percent, Itir’s 45 percent and the child’s 90 percent. All of them are in critical condition.
