Expatriate’s wife eloped with lover, leaving behind two children
The wife of an expatriate, the mother of two children, eloped with her lover based on an acquaintance on TikTok. Burichang Police Station OC Lutfar Rahman confirmed the matter on Sunday (April 12) morning. The incident took place last Thursday (April 9) in Kalakchua Daklapara village of Mainamati Union in Burichang Upazila of Comilla. A written complaint has been filed with the police station in this regard.
According to the complaint, Jannatul Ferdous married Omar Faruk, a Saudi expatriate from Kalakchua Daklapara village, in 2019. They have two sons and children.
Recently, Jannatul Ferdous got involved with Anisur Rahman of Belashar village in Chandina Upazila through TikTok on her mobile phone. Based on this, on April 9 at around 1 am, Jannatul Ferdous ran away with Anisur Rahman, taking three bags of gold jewelry worth about 6 lakh taka, 2 lakh 5 thousand taka in cash and personal belongings.
While fleeing, he left his elder son (5) sleeping and took his younger son (2) with him. Later, he sent the younger son to his father’s house through relatives. Currently, the elder son is with his grandmother and the younger son is with his uncle. In this regard, expatriate Omar Faruk said on his mobile phone, “I have provided him regular maintenance. I have sent everything whenever he wanted. But how could he do such an inhuman act? I am destitute. My two children have lost their mother. As a remittance warrior, I demand a fair trial in this incident.” In this regard, Burichang Police Station OC Lutfar Rahman said, “A general diary (GD) has been filed with the police station regarding the absconding of the expatriate’s wife. The matter is under investigation.”
