Expatriate dies in motorcycle accident in Homna, Comilla

A Saudi expatriate youth named Nishad (26) was killed in a head-on collision between a motorcycle and an auto-rickshaw in Homna, Comilla. In addition, his friend Ifat (15) was injured. The accident occurred at the foot of the Ramkrishnapur Wybridge in the upazila at around 8:30 pm on Tuesday (December 9).
It is learned that the deceased Nishad is the son of Momin Member of Ramkrishnapur Banshgari village. And the injured Ifat is the son of Md. Jilani of Jhunarchar village in Bancharampur upazila. He suffered serious injuries to his head and hand. After primary treatment, doctors referred him to Dhaka for advanced treatment.
According to local and family sources, Nishad went for a ride in the Wybridge area with a friend on a motorcycle at night. While getting on the bridge, he collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw. As a result, Nishad’s head was split in two. Later, his relatives rescued him and took him to the Homna Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctor Dr. Saiful Islam declared him dead. Family sources said that Nishad has extended his leave. In this regard, the Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of the health complex, Dr. Md. Shahidullah, said that he died before being brought to the hospital. The incident has cast a shadow of grief over the deceased’s family and the area.
