Everyone including police involved in controversial role will be arrested: Home Affairs Advisor.

Before August 5 Lieutenant General Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has warned that government officials including police officers involved in criminal activities and controversial roles during the Awami League government will be arrested. He said, “In the meantime, Chhagal Matiur has been arrested today. We will gradually bring everyone out and arrest them.”

He told reporters after visiting the Ansar and VDP headquarters at 11 am today, Wednesday.

Despite their controversial roles no action has been taken against many police officers but instead they have been transferred and promoted. However, many of those who have completed their training have not been appointed.

The Home Affairs Advisor said, “Those police officers who had roles and have footage are being arrested. Efforts are underway. Every day, 2 to 1 person is being arrested. For example, today Chhagal Matiur were arrested. Others will also be arrested and brought under the law. Not everyone can be caught in one day many are hiding they will be caught one by one.’

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, ‘After the inquiry no one will be spared those against whom evidence is found. They are being caught. You see, they have been caught, and after being caught, one OC has even fled.’

A list of such controversial police officers and members is in the media. The Home Affairs Advisor requested that the list be submitted to the Police Headquarters.

Along with this, he thanked the journalists and said, ‘You have done correct and transparent journalism against the propaganda of neighboring countries.’ However, the Home Affairs Advisor requested that investigative journalism be further increased.
