Engine-driven trawler with 730 kg of crabs seized from Sundarbans
The Forest Department has seized an engine-driven trawler with about 730 kg of crabs abandoned in the Charamukha Khal area at the mouth of the Kapotaxha River under the Satkhira Range of the Sundarbans. The 730 kg of crabs and an engine-driven trawler were seized in a joint operation by the Coast Guard and the Forest Department on Saturday (July 26) afternoon. Kobadak Forest Station Officer of the Satkhira Range of the Sundarbans Md. Anwar Hossain said, “The Forest Department and the Coast Guard have seized an engine-driven trawler with 730 kg of crabs abandoned in the Charamukha Khal area at the mouth of the Kapotaxha River during a joint patrol.” He also said, “Further action will be taken subject to the permission of the court.”
