Elder brother dies after being hit with younger brother’s rod in Jamalpur

In Meland Upazila of Jamalpur, elder brother Md. Masud (30) died after his skull was fractured after being hit with a rod by his younger stepbrother due to a family dispute. The incident took place at 8:30 pm yesterday, Saturday (March 7) in the Nayanagar area of ​​the upazila. The deceased Md. Masud is the son of the deceased Aminul Islam of the same area. The accused Md. Hasib (26) is the son of Momin of the same area. They are children of the same mother.
Locals said that a fight broke out between the two brothers last night due to a long-standing family dispute. At one point, Hasib hit Masud on the head with an iron rod, seriously injuring him. His skull cracked. Family members rescued Masud in a serious condition and brought him to Jamalpur General Hospital. The doctor on duty at the hospital declared him dead.
Dr. Arifur Islam, Medical Officer of the Emergency Department of Jamalpur General Hospital, confirmed the death. Md. Obaidur Haque, officer-in-charge of Meland Police Station, said, “They are the children of the same mother. There was a long-standing dispute between the two brothers over a house. This incident happened suddenly on Saturday night. Legal action is under process in this incident.”
