Eight students, including madrasa student, burned in Brahmanbaria

Seven students and a nanny of a women’s madrasa in Brahmanbaria were burned after touching an electric wire outside while trying to bring clothes falling from the roof through a window. Six of them were sent to Dhaka overnight for better treatment. The incident occurred at 5 pm yesterday, Wednesday (October 29), at the Darun Najat Women’s Madrasa located in the Bhadughar area of ​​the municipality.
The injured are Nusrat (10), daughter of Nurul Haque of Talgati village in Nabinagar upazila, Sadia Khatun (6), daughter of Abu Said of Sirajganj district, Rowza Akhter (12), daughter of Majnu Mia of Sadekpur village in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila, Nusrat (10), daughter of Kabir Hossain of Bhadughar village, Jannatul Mawa (8), daughter of Kabir Mia of the same area, Umme Taisan (5), daughter of Anwar Hossain of Shimrail village in Kasba upazila, and Alea (30), wife of Tufazzal Hossain of Bhadughar area, who is in charge of the madrasa. Mohammad Abdullah, the Qari of Darun Najat Mahila Madrasa, said that a cloth was lying on an electric wire outside the fourth floor of the madrasa. Alea, in-charge of the madrasa, tried to remove the cloth through a long steel pipe through the window. As soon as the long pipe touched the cloth, she got a shock from the electric wire. Then the clothes caught fire from the electric wire and the students inside the room were burned. I have brought the injured students to Sadar Hospital. I am sending 6 of them to Dhaka for advanced treatment. The remaining two have been asked to be taken to Dhaka. =
Hasim Khan, senior staff nurse of the surgery ward of Brahmanbaria Sadar General Hospital, said, 8 people from the madrasa have been admitted. They are all burn patients. As the condition of six of them is critical, they have been sent to Dhaka for advanced treatment. The remaining two have been admitted to the surgery ward. Brahmanbaria Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Obaidur Rahman said, we are taking information. Police have been sent to the spot.
