Dhaka Education Board Chairman announced his resignation
Dhaka Education Board Chairman Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar has announced his resignation in the face of the demand of auto pass of a group of students who failed in HSC. He will resign tomorrow Monday.
Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar told this information to the media today at 8:20 pm on Sunday.
Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar said, ‘Students have asked for my resignation. If they suspend the movement if I resign then I will resign. I will submit my resignation letter tomorrow.
It is known that the students who failed in HSC gathered in front of the education board with a procession around 11 o’clock. Later they locked the main gate of the board. Around 2:30 in the afternoon, they broke the lock and entered the board and went to the chairman’s room. There are complaints of vandalism.
At that time students were attacked. It has been reported that 11 people including some students were injured. The students alleged that the board officials were involved in the attack. They also demanded punitive measures against them.
Meanwhile, army personnel and police have been stationed at the spot. They are requesting the students to protest peacefully. At the same time, it is also seen requesting to go home instead of staying there at night. But the students are reluctant to listen to anyone. They have made it clear that they will stay there until their demands are met.
