EC to meet with three service chiefs

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin is holding a meeting with the chiefs of the army, navy and air force on Sunday (December 21). The meeting is scheduled to begin at around 12 noon at the Election Commission Secretariat in Agargaon.
Meanwhile, Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman, Admiral Mohammad Nazmul Hasan and Air Chief Marshal Hassan Mahmud Khan have reached the Commission Secretariat. Election Commission Secretary Akhtar Ahmed welcomed them.
It is learnt that the three service chiefs will first pay a courtesy call on the Election Commission. After that, a formal meeting on the law and order situation will begin at around 2:30 pm. Four election commissioners and the EC secretary will be present in the meeting, chaired by CEC Nasir Uddin. The meeting will discuss the law and order situation, the joint forces’ activities to recover illegal weapons and suppress terrorist activities, and maintaining the electoral environment.
