Easybike passenger killed in BRTC bus collision in Lalmonirhat

A battery-powered easybike passenger named Morjina Khatun (34) was killed when an autovan of a BRTC passenger bus going from Dinajpur to Kurigram was hit by a BRTC passenger bus in Panchagram Majhapara area of ​​Sadar upazila of Lalmonirhat district.
It is learnt that three other passengers were injured in the incident. The accident took place on the Rangpur-Kurigram highway on Wednesday (December 3) afternoon. It is learnt that the deceased Morjina is the wife of Shahidul Islam of Khoragach area of ​​Panchagram union of the same upazila.
Police and locals said that an easybike carrying passengers was going from Barabari in Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila to Fakir’s Takeya Bazar. On the way, a BRTC passenger bus going from Dinajpur to Kurigram hit the easybike hard. The easybike was crushed under the bus, killing Morjina on the spot and injuring three others. Locals rescued the injured and admitted them to Rangpur Medical College (RMC) Hospital.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station, Sakhawat Hossain, who reached the spot, told us, “Rescue operations were launched immediately after the accident. The bodies have been handed over to the families and the injured have been sent to the hospital.”
