Earthquake shakes country on first day of Ramadan

An earthquake was felt in the country on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan. The earthquake was felt at 12:46 pm today, Thursday (February 19). Its epicenter was Chhatke in Sunamganj. The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said that the intensity of the earthquake was 4.1 on the Richter scale.
My Earthquake Alert reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was Chhatke in Sunamganj, 181 kilometers from Dhaka. It shook Sylhet city and various areas of the district for a few seconds. No immediate reports of damage were received.
Shah Mohammad Sajib Hossain, Assistant Director of the Sylhet office of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, said that the intensity of the earthquake was 4.10 on the Richter scale. Since its depth was shallow, the tremors were felt in the surrounding areas.
