Earthquake in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar at midnight

A mild tremor was felt in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar after an earthquake in the Bay of Bengal at midnight. The magnitude 4 earthquake was felt about 118 kilometers from Teknaf at 3:29 am today, Thursday (November 27).
Earthquake website ‘Volcano Discovery’ said that the tremors in Teknaf were very weak, so most people could not feel it. Although they could not confirm the depth of the epicenter of the earthquake. However, EMSC said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Earlier, a strong earthquake of magnitude 5.7 was felt in various parts of the country including the capital Dhaka last Friday. The tremor, which lasted for a few seconds, spread panic and many people came out of buildings and took to the streets. The earthquake, which originated in Narsingdi, killed at least 10 people across the country and injured hundreds.
