‘E-Family Court will reduce corruption, save time’
Legal Advisor Dr. Asif Nazrul said that both suffering and corruption will be reduced in the country through e-Family Court. He also said that this will save time. He said these things at the inauguration ceremony of the e-Family Court at the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court on Monday (November 24) morning.
The legal advisor said, ‘E-Family Court will undoubtedly reduce suffering and corruption and save time. The Chief Advisor’s biggest office is WhatsApp. He works more on WhatsApp. So we should also move towards digitalization.’ ‘We don’t have to thank you. You just take care of it like a baby,’ added Asif Nazrul.
He said, ‘We have made 21 reforms in the Law Ministry. We hope that the political parties that come after us will love the country and maintain them. Therefore, I request the next government to continue our initiatives.’
Noting that it is possible to get justice by going to legal aid without any money, Asif Nazrul said, ‘We have made it mandatory in family cases. Now we have introduced it in 20 districts and before we go, we will introduce it in 64 districts. Hopefully, the backlog of cases will be reduced by 50 percent in 5 years.’
At that time, the legal advisor said that it took former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew 10 years to reform Singapore. He said, ‘Reform is not possible overnight. The state structure cannot be weakened by reforming what the people of the country cannot accept. The people of the country must also be ready to accept reforms. We have to be realistic in implementing reforms.’
