DUCSU’s first meeting held, 5 student representatives become Senate members

The first meeting of the Executive Council of Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) has concluded. The meeting was held in a room adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor’s office this Sunday (September 14) morning. DUCSU’s newly elected VP Sadiq Kayem, GS SM Farhad, AGS Mohiuddin Khan and other members of the Executive Council were present. University Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan presided over the meeting. After the meeting, it was announced that the names of 5 student representatives have been sent as members of the Dhaka University Senate. They are DUCSU VP Sadiq Kayem, GS SM Farhad, AGS Mohiuddin Khan, Sabikunnahar Tamanna, who received the highest number of votes among the members, and Transport Secretary Asif Abdullah. After the meeting, DUCSU VP Sadiq Kayem said, “Work has officially started for the students from today. We will work to solve the problems of the students and fulfill their expectations.” Earlier, the meeting was announced in a press release signed by DUCSU General Secretary SM Farhad last Saturday.
